My name is Hans de Bruin and I am married to Danijela Milosavljevic. We are living in the beautiful city of The Hague. As a youngster I was always attracted to dogs. About 35 years ago I visited a dog show for the first time. Since then I went very regular as a spectator or competitor to the dog shows. I have owned several breeds but the last six years I am hooked to the American Staffordshire terrier. In my opinion there is no more noble and loyal breed in the canine world.

I have carefully chosen the name Stonewall'S. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson was one of the most honored generals of the American Civil War. His famous nickname was first given to Jackson by General Bernard Bee on the battlefield at First Manassas on July 21, 1861. It refers to Jackson's steadfastness in the face of the enemy. Jackson's demeanor inspired Bee (a friend from Jackson's years at West Point) to shout to his troops, "Look, men, there is Jackson standing like a stone wall! Let us determine to die here, and we will conquer!".

I see a lot of resemblance between the characteristics of general Jackson and our breed. The American Staffordshire terrier is famous for his braveness loyalty and steadfastness.
